Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, formerly Facebook, announced the launch of a virtual clothing store to equip digital characters on the platform.
Named Meta Avatars Store, the store starts to be released this week and, in principle, should have three famous brands: Balenciaga, Prada and Thom Browne.
According to Zuckerberg, digital Paraguay Mobile Number List clothes sold on Facebook are a way for users to increase the number of options available to dress their avatar.
Free items, in turn, will continue to be accessible to users of the social network.
Will other brands also be able to sell digital clothes on Facebook?
Meta has not yet announced whether other brands will subsequently sell digital clothing on the platform.
However, commerce is expected to be the gateway to partnerships with other brands in the developing metaverse.

As a result, it is likely that fashion and accessories companies will establish agreements with Facebook to sell their products or to maintain their own spaces in the digital environment.
Initially, the Meta Avatars Store will be available in the United States, Canada, Thailand and Mexico. There is no forecast for launch in Brazil.
Facebook did not disclose the price of the clothes or whether the items will be turned into NFTs in the future.
Items can be resold
The objective of the virtual store is for creators to develop and sell their pieces , as is already the case with the digital arts market.
“In the future, anyone who basically has a computer and imagination will be able to present their ideas. And it will be a lot of fun to check it out too,” Zuckerberg said on Instagram.
Evan Chen, vice president of Fashion Partnerships at Meta, believes that the news will be a game changer in attracting interested parties to explore the digital environment.
“Digital products will be an important form of personal expression in the metaverse and an important driver of the creative economy. We will add more brands and take this to virtual reality soon”, explained the executive in a post also on Instagram.
