Hello! I am Carlos Suarez, creator of Freediving Hunter, the first freediving spearfishing game for iOS. I am an independent game developer, artist, and programmer. I create 3d graphics and animations for commercials, invention prototypes, presentations, court cases, etc. You can see that aspect of my work at www.Strongbox3d.com. I created this forum so I can interact with and learn from the players of Freediving Hunter, so I can update and expand the game to make it even better. Have a look around the forum, but first, tell me about yourself. Where are you from? How did you find out about Freediving Hunter? Sincerely, Carlos

Hi Carlos,
Thank you for creating this game.
Im from Indonesia, with 2/3 of the whole area are ocean with tropical climate. Great place for spearos.
Btw, it will be very demotivating if player accidentally choose the 'Start Over' option on the main page, and start all over again from the beginning. I will appreciate if you would hide that option to avoid it.

About the "Start Over" button: you are right, that wasn't working out very well. So I just submitted a game update yesterday which removes that button. The update also includes several other elements that I think players will like. It usually takes Apple a week to approve updates. Let me know what you think when you get it. Thanks again for playing the game! Please spread the word... Regards, Carlos

Cheers to all of you guys! I am very happy that you are playing the game I created with so much passion and it was born from my nostalgia of those years I spent spearfishing professionally in Cuba. In case any of you don't know where Cuba is, Cuba is a beautiful island in the Caribbean that guards the entrance of the Gulf of Mexico. Unfortunately it is governed by the tyranny and I have to escape to North America for political reasons. I haven't been able to spearfish anymore after I started to have problem with my blood pressure. Please check these links with screenshots from the upcoming update 1.4: www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=1411146265834706&set=ms.1411040025845330.1411039312512068.1411039529178713.1411146265834706.bps.a.1409487946000538&type=1&theaterwww.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=1412190662396933&set=ms.1412187582397241.1412188799063786.1412190662396933.bps.a.1409487946000538&type=1&theaterI have been working non stop since I published the first version of the game, I have updated the game several times already, but unfortunately the game has been falling in the app store charts and haven't created enough income to allow me to keep working on it so consistently. I was really expecting more support from the people who have bought the game, through rating all the versions of the game and spreading the word to everyone of their friends, to keep the game up in the charts, thus creating more sales and allowing me to work full time on making the game better and better with each update. I didn't imagine that it would be too much trouble for the players who bough the game to go to the app store and rate it for each version, apparently most players are not into rating games or they don't realize how important it is for the continue grow of the game. Anyway, I am working at the moment on this update 1.4 that among other things will include buttons for posting screenshots directly from within the game to facebook and twitter, a new headshot feature that will kill the fish instantly to avoid the sharks, a personal aquarium where the player can see each species that he/she catches with the name of the species and the best record for each species that he/she has shot. I am hoping to some how get a better support from the players in the form of rating the game and spreading the word but it hasn't happen yet despite all the updates I have done. My idea and which has been since the beginning to grow the game to be the best and closest game anyone could find to the real sport of spearfishing. If this happens, I will be able to continue growing the game and adding more features. I appreciate all your support guys! Regards, Carlos

Dear Carlos Suarez greetings, I am Reza Shahsiah from IRAN. My educations is Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering. I have interested to video hunting games and have a large archive from them from the almost famous companies like Wizard Works (sunstorm), Cabela's, SCS software, and etc. My favorite game are "carnivores 1, 2, and 3, and Shark! Hunting the great white" from Wizard Works. Shark! hunting the great white is about hunting the almost dangerous sharks like great white, mako, ...with underwater harpoon (speargun). I played your game and find it very realistic and awesome. My suggestions are as follows: 1- You put dangerous sharks with aggressive behavior for hunting with harpoon (spear without line) or very stong spearfishing gears. It makes your game fantastic and other predators like giant squid, Marlin, and ... 2- you expand area of maps and much deeper with more time. 3- Make your game non-linear from papulations of fishes and AI. 4- A boat for rest and travel to points of map with Sonar equipment. Hunting of predators like great white with deadly jaws is realy awesome and if we had a trophy room is better from fish tank, because my trophies are dead. I am faculty member and maybe my suggestions will be very useful. regards reza

Hey good morning Carlos. Great game brother. Do you have any plans on putting a depth gauge on the screen? I think that would be awesome to see how deep we were fishing. And if it were in the style of an Aeris or Suunto freediving watch, even better. Anyway, still, a great game. It's actually the only game I have on my phone. Well worth the money.

Hi Carlos, Brad here on the North Carolina coast. I am really enjoying this game! Reading about your journey to the states makes the game that much more enjoyable. This is by far the best spearfishing game out there in my opinion. It feels very realistic, and if my phone didn’t need charging I wouldn’t put the game down. I’m a surfer of 17 years and I’m finally taking up spearfishing when my gun gets here next week. Keep up the outstanding work.
